Our story

Maxima Walls & Ceilings has built wall and ceiling systems with developers and general contractors across the Lower Mainland since 2004.

Framing, boarding, insulation and finishing all sit in house. That is the whole point: fewer handoffs between trades, fewer gaps for the schedule to fall through, and one number to call when something needs to move.

The portfolio runs to 32 projects, from six-storey wood-frame apartments and concrete mid-rises to industrial warehouses, a dual-branded hotel and a cultural centre addition. Most of our work comes from developers and general contractors we have already delivered for.

What we hold to

  • Precision

We hold to the highest standards on layout, plumb and finish level, and would rather resolve a detail in the shop drawing than argue about it at the deficiency walk.

  • Efficiency

Strict timelines and held budgets. With every layer in house, we sequence one schedule instead of negotiating four.

  • Craftsmanship

Crews are trained in house and stay on a project through to completion, so the finish on the last unit reads the same as the first.

  • Partnership

From first consultation to handover, we work to build long relationships. Repeat work from the same builders is the only reference that really counts.

How we hold the standard

Quality is a process we run on every project, not a walk-through at the end.

Before mobilizing

Scope control

Drawings reviewed and scope confirmed before a crew arrives. Assemblies, ratings and finish levels agreed in writing, and changes priced as they come in.

Through the build

Schedule discipline

We commit to the dates on the construction schedule and report against them, moving our own crews to protect a milestone.

In progress

Finish standards

Finish set with the general contractor at the start and checked as we go, under the lighting the space will actually have.

Floor by floor

Inspection and handover

Areas walked and signed off while crews are still on that floor. By handover the deficiency list is short, closed and documented.

After handover

Continuous improvement

Every project is debriefed with the crews who built it, and what we learn goes back into how we estimate, sequence and train.

Nobody works unsafe.

Safety is our highest value on every worksite. We operate as one team, and it comes down to four commitments.

Certified every year

Every employee completes safety certification training annually, keeping crews current with best practice.

Inspected weekly

Experienced safety consultants inspect sites weekly or bi-weekly, and findings are actioned on site.

Stop-work authority

No employee is required or permitted to work under unsafe conditions. No exceptions, on any site.

Shaped by crews

The program changes through ongoing feedback from the people doing the work.
